found this in yahoo egroup WASCert... What does it mean?
Hi All, Test 488, will be renamed April 15, 2002, to read: Test 488, "BM WebSphere Application Server, Advanced Single Server Edition for Multiplatforms, V4.0 ... VisualAge for Java based". and since IBM is retiring / withdrawing Visual Age exams themselves. Test 488 will itself be withdrawn/retired on June30th 2002. and will be replaced by Test 158 - "IBM WebSphere Application Server, Advanced Single Server Edition for Multiplatforms, V4.0 ... WebSphere based". The full details - objectives. study resources etc will be available on April 15th.I extracted the above information from this - http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/news/20020408d.shtml - notification. please go through it for full details. And a question to people who hold IBM certifications earlier. What does retirement meant? In case of Microsoft certification it means u no longer use the credentials. is it the same with IBM?
Thanks, Axel. I knew IBM began to offer VAJ 4.0(Test 283) and WAS 4.0(Test 488) in November 2001. I got my VAJ 4.0 certification in February 2002. I am well prepared for Test 488. But ... How could we catch up with IBM's changing technology. Any suggestion? Ren
