Hi Mohit,
first a bad news:
this exam times out on Juni 30:
https://coderanch.com/t/143841/po/certification/will-withdrawn-June

The good news: There's a very similar new one (IBM.158). No VAJ but WSAD.
Full name is:
IBM WebSphere Application Server, Advanced Single Server Edition for Multiplatforms, V4.0 ... WebSphere based
(its the exam with the longest name I ever took. )

Another good news: I hope I will post the prep-exam answers of the ice-tool this weekend.
Maybe I don't have all the question right, but I've reached 79%, in some areas 100%. You can help to get the 100% (which maybe not possible, because 2 questions seems to be broken.

(in case you dont know here is the link to the prep exam, with information about materials etc.
http://www-1.ibm.com/certify/tests/info.shtml#158
)
Another bad news: I am quite sure, that this exam will time out soon, because IBM will ship WSAS 5 in the 3rd quarter, which will change a lot of things in EJB (to the better). I don't think that any employer cares if you have IBM.158 or the follower. In any case I would prepare for 158, because WSAD is much better than VAJ (I think).
Will take exam tomorrow. 11:00 GMT. Don't know if I will pass. Have to take it soon for some political reason in my company.
Learned a lot the past 4 weeks.
Axel
its not easy. Many people say, its not easy.

First, instead of 488 you should look at 158. IBM is withdrawing 488 (I believe at the end of June, from the top of my head).
Second, I was able to prep for 488 (and these same resources should work for 158) by using:
(Available from java.sun.com)
1) The EJB 1.1 Spec
2) The JSP 1.1 Spec
3) The J2EE 1.2 Spec
(Available from www.ibm.com/redbooks)
4) The WAS 4.0 Handbook
5) The WAS 4.0 Developer's Guide
Take a look at www.ibm.com/certify and examine the recommended educational resources. Also take the practice test.
I basically blew off the VAJ portions of 488 since I knew I would be taking 157/158 in the future. I was able to pass 488 just fine without worrying about VAJ.
Matt

Good ressource is Monson-Haeffels book, 3rd edition (you find in the resources of exam).
I liked that tutorial a lot: http://www.webspherepro.com/wparchive/was4tutorial/was4Tutorial.html
