oops..
Here is the link for preparation
http://www.bm-one.com/Se/it488.html
As per the Roadmap of JCert
you need to take 1, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B Skills to get
IBM enterprise developer title.
But already you are BEA Enterprsie Developer right!

Hi,
I just passed exam 158 with 73%. Below are my scores (section % of test/% correct answered)
:

Design/Build reusable enterprise component 15%/87%
Design/Build web components .... 19%/90%
Develop clients that access enterprise com 8%/50%
Demo understanding of DB conectivity ... 4%/100%
Handle EJB Transaction issues 11%/83%
Develop J2EE components with WSAD 15%/62%
Assemble enterprise app and deploy ... 13%/71%
Use WAS tools to validate ............. 15%/50%
I am currently using WAS 4.0 AE (not AEs) in my work, and have used Weblogic in my previous projects. I have taken SCEA I (91%) and SCWCD (93%) in the past year or so, and I think this exam 158 is more difficult wrt to the EJB and Web components questions (more tricky) in SCEA I and SCWCD exams.
How I prepared for the exam (basically spent 1 weekend and a couple of hours for a few days) :
1) Read Monson-Haefel's EJB book chap 4,5,9,10,11,12,14 - this book is invaluable in EJBs section of the exam
2) Followed the WSAD tutorial found on IBM site
3) Read the Websphere notes found on IBM site on topics such as Deployment/Installation, Troubleshooting etc
4) Followed the tutorial at http://www.webspherepro.com/wparchive/was4tutorial/was4Tutorial.html - this was useful as my experience is only on WAS AE and not AEs
5) Tried IBM Mock Exam. Read and rationalize the answers to all the questions given in previous post from Axel/Bruce
6) Went thro Whizlab's test engine - I feel that the questions in Whizlabs are relatively easier compared to the actual exam. But it helped me to focus on the types of questions and the topics I can expect.
Good luck !

Hi Wee,
Congrats on passing the exam..!!!
I was also studying to give an IBM certification and I am confused as to which exam i should give.
Should i give IBM exam 158
or should i give IBM exam 488?
any suggestions?
do u feel that certification in working in Visual Age for Java is required in the market?
Regards,
Bonson

Of course 158. 488 is retiring soon. Also, even though the app developer is still quite buggy, its good that you develop java/jsp and test it in one ide/
