Hi.
Unless they changed it recently, should be like 486.

Sorry I don't know about IBM 486 either, what does 'like 486 ' mean
Thanks,

So you mean if we passed the 483 exam, then
we will not get the certificate ??
So what do we get, only a sheet of paper about
our score ? Whoa..

483 isn't really a "certification", though, per se. It's a supporting exam for other certifications - so getting only the result sheet sounds about right to me.

Thanks, for the info ..
So it's the same as SCEA - Part I from Sun..
Talking about prerequisite, SCJP is also
pre-r for SCJD and SCWCD, but for that we
will get certificate.
So for 483, what is the next certification
that requite it ?

Well, but SCJP is a bad example there - it's a certification on its own. (Think of SCJP more like IBM exam 158/488, which is a 'specialist' certification, and is the first step to a more advanced certification.)
The one that comes to mind is IBM's Enterprise Developer certification, which requires you to have SCJP, UML (exam 486), J2EE (exam 483) and the WebSphere AS certification (exam 158 - I don't think 488, which I have, still counts here). 483, 486 and SCJP are also prerequisites for the Enterprise Developer certifications from jCert (http://www.jcert.org) for Sun's iPlanet 6.0 and BEA's WebLogic 7.0.
Hope that helps!
