I'm currentlly completing my SCJD exam. I previoussly worked in C/C++ in the Telecoms sector. I wish to gain a Java Developer role.
What is the next certification I should gain ?
XML, SCWCD or SCEA ?
Any thoughts
Cheers
Tony

I would say XML since it becomes the key technology for most tools.

XML or IBM 483 But It would be preferable to go for IBM 483/484 EJB Paper if you wish to get Java Developer role

Hi Tony Collins
If I have a choice among XML, SCWCD or SCEA, I will prefer XML then SCWCD and then SCEA

I plan to do SCBCD, SCEA if my submitted SCJD assignment passed but the result is not out yet so I have to wait for the SCJD result b4 I can continue on SCBCD or SCEA.
Also I am currently getting OCP 8i&9i DBA and then will study for IBM Certified Developer-XML and Related Technologies after SCJD SCBCD and SCEA.
then I will see If I can do a master in information technology degree or MSc Computer science.

Hi Billy,
If I were you, I would go for Masters degree now itself rather than taking all these certs. If we see five years from now only Masters degree, our Maturty, how we analyze things and how we manage things matter. Then we might be ashamed of having certifications on resume. Just my thoughts.

well the problems is I can't do a master degree because I got declined by two universities into their postgraduate programme despite the fact I have a BSc in information systems specialisation but I only had 2 certs back then when I applied so I am doing all these certs now and the ones I mentioned about plus have some work experience and apply again for next year see if I can get accepted
