Hi,
Can anybody confirm me whether there will be a hint about the number of correct answers for each question in the test 287 similar to the ICE test?
Thanks,
Vidya.

Hello Mahesh,
Can you come up with a little more detail about:
1. Author profile i.e. Who are they, where are they based etc
2. Company profile - where is it based, where is it registered, is it a LLP, PLC etc. How many copies have you sold so far, customer testimonials etc.
3. Sample of what you are selling so that we know what we are buying.
4. Contact info - What no. to call if I need my money back.
I am sure there are a lot of people looking for what you are selling but your website doesn't seem to inspire much confidence at this point.

Dear Harpreet
Please find my answers below.
1. Authors profile i.e. Who are they, where are they based etc
We are a team of 3 professionals, just started our site as an auction store with andale.com but htt://www.certificateguide.com and http://www.exam-simulators.com will be redirecting to this store for timebeing.
Main author is myself, Mahesh V. Chalil,(please find my signature for my skills and I am working as a J2EE Architect with a well known healthcare company in CA and i have 7years of experience in IT with 4 years in US.) We have 2 more guys from India contributing to this materials, including my brother who is also a J2EE/Websphere Specialist working with MNC in Kerala. He is also a IBM Certified Websphere Specialist. Other member is helping us to format these materials. We have 2more guys coming to our team soon from Boston to contribute towards SUN Solaris exam but we are working on the same right now.
2. Company profile - where is it based, where is it registered, is it a LLP, PLC etc.
Right now we are selling it as fixed price auction items with andale.com auction store but we are in the process of registering it in India and our team in India is working on the same. This will let us to gradually move our site to our own hosting.
Q-How many copies have you sold so far, customer testimonials etc.
In last 2-3 weeks since we started, we had around 25 customers who bought our products and till now we are happy with their feedbacks.
3. Sample of what you are selling so that we know what we are buying.
I believe that exam materials purpose is to pass the exam and not to simulate real exam experience(when you can do the same through sample tests in IBM site) by paying simulators a high cost. Our material will be in the form of bound booklet with separate booklet for question and answer kit and study tips.
4. Contact info - What no. to call if I need my money back.
If you make your payment through paypal, you will be able to get your refund through paypal itself. Once you sent your marklist, we will refund your money through paypal itself. But if you are making your payment with check, we will issue your payment through check or you can give your paypal id for us to credit your money back. Please look at our contact us page for full contact address in US and phone number.

Q-I am sure there are a lot of people looking for what you are selling but your website doesn't seem to inspire much confidence at this point.
I am glad to hear that people are interested in the same. I have been thinking of doing the same for past 2years or so since i got certified in 13 or 14 skill sets from IBM and SUN and I hope that I will be able to achieve the real success with all your support.
I will appreciate all the kinds of feedback from you all.
I hope I answered your questions.

Hello Harpreet,
I would like to comment more on this following question:
"Q-I am sure there are a lot of people looking for what you are selling but your website doesn't seem to inspire much confidence at this point."
There are limitations to what we can do with this e-store where we hosted our product. But before we get into this business in fullfledged version, we need to create a good customer base and relationship with them.
We are very clear with our intentions -"Sell products which will help our customers to pass their exams in the first try."
About inspiring confidence in customers: "By providing samples or trial exam on the internet might not help someone to make a confident decision to buy the product. What if the sample I am providing in the internet is best and rest of the material I am going to ship is nowhere near to the standard? We believe that our strength is in making a good relationship with the customers by interacting with them all the time. We also believe that rather than making our site more fancy, make our products more and more comepetitive in market by increasing the products quality."
About quality of our product:
If you take the objectives of IBM exam 340 or IBM Exam 286, there are a limited number of topics for the exam. And covering all the important points (tips) on these objectives and studying some sample mockup questions and answers (based on our experience attending these exams) are more than enough to pass the exam. But the real question is :"Why do we get certified?" To prove that we are skilled enough in the topic in which we are getting certified. So, our study tips will make sure that you will have enough knowledge when you attend the exam.

Hello Bala,
Please excuse the duplicate post, but I have developed a study guide for Test 287 that became available in August. It has trial versions of the WebSphere software on accompanying CD's. Please follow the link below in my signature block. Hope this helps.

Hi Bala,
If you pass the 287 then I do not understand why you would feel the need to take the 286. I went straight for the 287, because it includes EJBs, and leaves out the workbench basics.
The tests and certifications are as follows:
  • Test 285: Associate Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0
  • Test 286: Solution Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0
  • Test 287: Enterprise Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0

  • If you still want to do the 286, check the IBM Web site for suggested educational resources.
    Regards,

    Dear Howard,
I had attended a training workshop conducted by IBM @ Singapore and these were the exams they asked me to take inorder for me to become IBM Certified Trainer..
    There were three paths - Step 1 -> WSAD, Step 2 -> WAS , Step 3 -> Portal
Learning Path for IBM Websphere and the exam Tests Required
    Courses
    Step 1: SW232 -> SW225 -> SW257 (SW237: Optional)
You need to clear Test 286 & 287 for becoming a IBM Certified Trainer.
    Step 2: SW246
    Step 3: SW553, SW543.(No professional certification is required !)
