Hi,
I had enquired about Howard Kushner's Book--Developing J2EE Applications with WebSphere Studio: IBM Certified Enterprise Developer (IBM Certification Study Guides) in India(Hyderabad).. and was told that this edition is yet to be released in India..
Can anyone tell when it would be available in India. and also the name of the distributors' if any...
Regards,
Praveen

Hello Praveen,
I will check with my publisher on Monday. I was told that the book was targeted for worldwide distribution, including emerging markets (which would include India and China). In fact, I am told that translation to Chinese is underway. Meanwhile I can offer you this link http://www.fetchbook.info/compare.do?search=1931182108 , which will guide you to a number of Web based stores. They are in the U.S., Canada, Germany, and the U.K. Hope this helps.
Best Regards,

Hello All,
Rather than repeat the entire post from the Book Reviews area, you can follow the link below to read a review of my book by Thomas Paul and see the message I posted that contains links to the preface, table of contents, and index.

Hello Praveen,
I just now got off the phone with my publisher and she says that although it will take months before the book is available in India, negotiations are already underway. It is quite a complicated process. Until then, I would advise you to obtain it using one of the Web based stores.

Hi Howard,
I have just ordered your book from amazon. In the meanwhile, I would like to ask, do the book containing indexes about which chapters are mapped to which objective?
If not, can you compile a simple list on this issue?
Thanks a lot.

Hello Nick,
This link will take you to the preface of the book, which contains the mapping of chapters to test objectives: Preface. I'm pretty sure that is what you want to see.

Thanks Howard.
By the way, will you write any books for 484?

No. My next book is being planned, but I can't give out the details yet. I will be submitting a proposal to IBM and then I will let you know when we have the contract in place. It will definitely be another IBM certification study guide. I can at least share that much with you.

Hello Forrest,
Perhaps... I suggest that you read the preface to my book, whch is available online, (see the link in my response to Nicholas Cheung dated December 4 in this same thread). That will explain how my book fits in. Since you already have achieved some certifications, you probably have the real world experience, but you need some familiarity with WebSphere Studio and WebSphere Application Server.
Another way to tell if you are ready for the 287 exam is to take the pre-assessment/sample tests. I have not taken any of them since August, and it may cost you 10 dollars now. It's your call.
Let me know if you still have any questions after reading the preface.
Regards,

HI Howard Kushner,
Thank you for your respons,
Actually I just got the free (286,287,484)vouchers.
and have ordered your book. I think I will get it in 1 week.
I think 286 test is covered what you list.
Because too much thing needs to be prepare, I hope your book can cover everything for 287.
Thanks,

Hi !
How lucky you are for having those free vouchers? Did you attempt any sample tests at Prime?

Hi, I've also got free vouchers (287, 484). I'm expecting the book to arrive today. I think I need it as I scrapped 287 with 62.5% (pass is 60). For 484 I got 77%. I was expecting more 'patterns' questions in 484.
I'm thinking og going for 486, but haven't read the Larman book yet (getting it within the next week). Maybe I can take it in early Jan (if any free vouchers still left by then).
