Hi Howard,
I am going to take the 287 exam. Since I am still waiting for your book, in the meanwhile, I would like to ask, what materials you recommend me to read?
In IBM 484, I read SCWCD Exam Kit and HF EJB. However, since 287 asks questions specific to WSAD, the general knowledge of J2EE may not be enough.
In addition, any revision notes you have written in the past, when you prepare for your 287 exam?
Many thanks.
Nick

Nick,
Just for info, I've got a copy of the book and have read about half of it so far. The book comes with some CD's that have trial versions of WSAD & WAS (I think its 60 days). I think the book is pretty good. You probably won't need any other material to prepare for 287 (Howard will probably confirm this). I've stopped reading it as I want to concentrate on 486 first.

Hi Ramon,
I also think the book is very useful for preparing the exam, however, I still have not yet received Howard's book (which won in this forum ).
In the meanwhile, in case I wanna continue my study, I wanna seek other information for that.

I have a question from chapter two of this book. In this chapter a CMP EJB test cleint is run to update an MP3 table of MYAUDIO database. But there are no DB2 database setup instructions mentioned. Do we have to setup the database just like that or am I missing the instructions somewhere.

Hi Vijay,
I remember that WSAD WTE includes not only WebSphere, but also DB2. Thus, you may not need to have installed the database.
Since my office installed Oracle9i as the database with WebSphere, I am not sure whether it really contains DB2 environment, but I remember my boss has told me this before.

Well I have DB2 on my machine but the question is about the database creation. Can I just make the database or I have to follow some instructions?
Moreover the instructions in the book show some database inserts also.

If you have already installed DB2 on your database, you can then add a DB connection in the *Database server* console, login and then you can see all tables you previously have. Then you know WSAD can now connect to DB2.
Chapter 2 has stated the DB schema, you may follow it to create the DB.
The detail of the schema can be found in Figure 2.44.

I am happy now that I did not win the book in the promo. It means I was not unlucky at that time.
Good Luck to all preparing for exams.
