Hi,
How good is the book titled 'WebSphere Studio Application Developer 5.0
by Igor Livshin' for preparing 287 exam? How long need one need to prepare for this exam.
suggestions appreciated .

I am afraid the book you mentioned is not designed for the Test 287.
If you want a book for 287, you should consider Howard's book:
WebSphere Certification Study Guide: Developing J2EE Applications with IBM WebSphere Studio: IBM Certified Enterprise Developer, wrtitten by Howard Kushner.
