Hello,

I am doing pure java development now, but had one year experience administrating IBM Websphere Application Server on iSeries. I'd like to get a certification for my own career development. However, I am not sure if Java Cert is of much help these days. So I am thinking of getting one of IBM websphere certs.

Being totally green on certifications, (greener than anyone can imagine), could someone please kindly give some advices?

Thanks much,

Cathy

There are various certificates provided by IBM.

For WSAD developers:
IBM Certified Associate Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0
IBM Certified Solution Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0
IBM Certified Enterprise Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0
IBM Certified Solution Developer - Web Services Development with WebSphere Studio V5.1

For WS admin:
WebSphere Application Server V5.0, Basic Administration
WebSphere Application Server V5.0, Multiplatform Administration

Hope this help.

...and if you wanted to do IBM Certified Enterprise Developer - WebSphere Studio, V5.0 you need Sun certified Java programmer as a pre-requisite. SCJP might be a good place to start.

Evil is afoot. But this tiny ad is just an ad:
