Hello all
Passed 285 with 75%. For those who are considering taking the test and are relatively new to the websphere ide here are a few words of caution - Try to excercise the options, menus, context menus within each perspective as extensively as you can.
The questions in "running applications" were the one I messed up most because the questions related mostly to which icon to click vs using context menu for an object/server etc. Stuff that you really need to excercise in order to remember the answers. And the second worst was "workbench basics" which is sort of related to my previous observations.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Ram

Congrad Ram!!!

You did a cool job!

Personally, I feel 285 and 286 are quite difficult, as they require you to remember the exact terms of WSAD. Even you use it everyday, you may not know exactly what something can be done, while something cant.

What's next? 286?

Thanks Nicholas,
I am considering SCJP and SCWCD as the next step. About time I took the SCJP exam and it also helps with the next level of websphere cert. I am in the rather curious position of being more familiar with the subject in SCWCD than SCJP. Any tips/books recommended for SCWCD. Feedback is much appreciated.
Thanks
Ram

For SCWCD 1.4, of course, I suggest Kathy and Bert's Head First Servlet and JSP! It will be released in July.

From now on, SCWCD Exam Study Kit (for SCWCD 1.3) is excellent for preparing SCWCD 1.3, as well as SCWCD 1.4 Servlet part. For JSP part, you may consider Hans' Java Server Page 3rd edition.

Does this mean that 287 is slightly simple?

I do feel 287 is a bit easier, as there are less questions that are WSAD specific.

It contains questions with general Servlets, JSP, EJB and WS, and as if you took SCWCD and SCBCD before, you will find them a bit more easy.

Maybe I should say in this way:

For WSAD related certificates:
Among 285, 286 and 287, I do feel that 287 is more easier than 285 and 286, as the IDE related stuffs really make me painful to memerize, just like the plain old MCSE in NT 4.0.

Amoung 287, 484 and 486, I do feel that 287 is the most difficult one, as questions in 484 and 486 are more general.

Hope this help.

I disagree that 287 is easier than 286 or 285.
I would say they are just different. It depends on your knowledge and experience.
