Any opinions on the value of Brainbench certifications? I have a few (I took a course which gave me a years "subscription" for as many tests as I wanted) and I was just wondering how they are viewed in the industry.

I don't tend to mention them either. I think the concept of Brainbench was an interesting one, and it does demonstrate some knowledge of the content, but I think there isn't really any universal acceptance of them in the workforce.

So do I.

Even though I got several tests before, I just treat them as interesting practices. I will never mention them in the CV, as those tests can be taken online and nobody can really verify that you are the real person who take the exams.

Furthermore, you can cheat very easily!!! For some coding questions, you can simply copy and paste them to the editor to test them!!!

JP Morgan asked me to do one for them prior to interview. They gave me a special login code..

If the questions come up again I guess it could be helpful to have them

I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but I see you are unarmed - shakespear. Unarmed tiny ad:
