Hi,

Has anyone had any good/less good experience
with any mock exams available for the IBM
certifications (i.e. IBM 486, 484, 287)

Cheers,

Hi Gian Franco,

For 486 I recommend the whizlabs prep engine. Its not cheap, but questions and especially the explanations are worth the investment.

For 484 I used non-commercial prep engines and material from the respective Javaranch forums.

I took 287 without engine, but I passed pretty narrowly, though I prepaired quite some time. As other people have said, its a tough test. You might buy whizlab engine, too.

not asked section:
I recommend books by Howard Kushner and Kyle Brown about Websphere development. Both are very informative.
Try to get copy of WSAD 5.12. It has much better tools for Webservices and probably for JSF than earlier versions.

Hi Axel,

Thank you very much for the information.
Do you have some links at hand for the
non-commercial prep engines?

Cheers,

Gian Franco

for example this is a really good one:

There are also servlet/Jsp questions. You can take questions from swcd-Site (link from ejbcertificate). 484 is not that difficult.
