To help you land a job or keep a job, which is making more sense:
to pursue a IT master degree or to take exams to get yourself certified?

For me, I feel both are equally important, thus, I acquired them in parallel.

Nick, you got MSCS or MSIT? or both?

Tong Chen,
I also think that both of them are important in this competitive I.T. world... I'm currently doing MSCS and I currently have four I.T. certs in my hands...

I got MSc(CS) majoring in Electronic Commerce and Information Security. And now is working for MSc(Fin).

I hate IT becos it is too hardware level.

Agree. MS gives you a degree, but content will be pharse out, and you wont do the same MS degree when it has been *updated* to the latest version. Certs. give you the latest stuffs, but you would frequently update it when new thing comes out.

Hi Nick,

Which university you went to? I was wondering I should do the master degree thru the online university or the traditional university?

Thanks for your opinion!

I dont like online U becos it seems like cheating money, with a so-called relatively lower cost, but without regular lecture is not a good idea.

But it depends, as different people has his own preference.

THere is never enough time for everything, master degree+IT certificates+experiences are the best combination but just waste too much time in life

May you share your experiences?

What kind of experiences you wanna?

which one of the certification was more difficult?

I believe 1z1-042 and 1z1-043 will be the most difficult, as there is no ILT materials. We can only rely on Oracle10g manual, however, you need to read a lot in order to get a pass.

I foresee that SCJP Tiger would be more difficult, but still, need to wait till I take the real thing.

did you do some of the exams in parallel?

Nope. I did them in sequence.

something more difficult?

Such as?

were some of them not worth?

Such as? All of them are must for me. So, there is no choice at all, but never mind.

Totally agree, all are must nowadays.

But just wanna mention that NOT "master degree" , but "master degrees".

but just waste too much time in life

Lucky that I just use my time in work, not in life.
