Hi

I have seen numerous recommendations of Craig Larman's UML book for studying for the IBM 486 certification. I noticed there is a newer *(third edition) which was published this month. Any idea which version would be best suited for the exam - apparently the later book covers UML2.

Thanks

As IBM 486 requires UML version 1.x only, you might not need to aware of UML 2.0. In addition, Larman's book focus on OOAD, not UML, and thus, this should not be a concern.

Read Fowler's UML Distilled 2nd edition, and Larman's Applying UML and Patterns, you will then pass 486 for sure.
