Hi , Have any body passed IBM 486 recently . please tell me , how & what should I study . I have this 3 books : UML distilled , Applying UML , HFDP . But feeling very tough to read ... please mail me , what should I read & do ..
I am planning to give it on 30th April . 20 days are enough for this exam ??
I passed 486 recently. The books you have are all you need with respect to literature. Depending on your studying strategy you might need some exam simulator. I used Whizlabs, which is probably the only one on the market, but I'm not 100% sure. I've seen that a fellow rancher M.Zaikin has posted a free downloadable exam simulator with a 486 test going with it, look in this forum for it.
As you said it's a tough read, especially Larman, I liked Fowler's book which I read a couple of times. HFDP is super and I used it to cement the concepts. If you are in desperate need of time the exam objectives allow you to drop HFDP without too much damage I'd say, but Larman and Fowler must be read.
Depending on how much time you can spend each day, with at least 3-4 hours a day I think it should be possible to make it on the 30th of April. Bare in mind that some prior affinity with all the concepts and experience is of great influence on the time you'd have to spend.
