Hello,

I am searching for practise tests to pass my OCA exam for the 10g. STS sadly has only the "New Features" test (Upgrade: Oracle9i to Oracle 10g), nothing else for the 10g.
Is there any other good test for the OCA you know of that could help me?

Regards, Sylvia.

1z0-042 is too new, and thus, there will be less resources on it.

I believe it is enough for you to pass it if you study ILT materials, so, try asking whether your friends have this resource.

I have a lot of material to study at home since I participated in a course from Oracle. Nevertheless I failed on my first try. That's why I am looking for a test tool like that from STS.

If you have taken courses in Oracle University, you should have the ILT materials. All questions can be found from these materials. So, you might read them again in detail.

I found no problem in passing the beta exam (1z1-042: 3 hours with 166 questions) for solely using ILT materials.

That is very nice for you. Sitting and learning the book and retry the exams did not lead to success for me. I obviously need a different approach in learning to pass the exam.

So, if anyone knows a test tool that has a new version with questions for Administration I for the 10g, please let me know. I did not find any in the www yet.

In order to remember the content easily, it is better to have some hands-on experiences. You might try to read the ILT materials again, and do more practices with the database as an interim solution.

You should try:

OCA: Oracle 10g Administration I Study Guide (Exam 1Z0-042)

by Chip Dawes, Bob Bryla, Joseph C. Johnson and Matthew Weishan
Sybex 2005 (672 pages)

It has review questions with answers.

Hope it helps.
