Hello. I just passed the exam today, but barely. It was a tough one for me since I don't have a strong backgroud on mainframes and legacy systems. I mainly develop MQ applications using Java.

I recommend you to browse through the official documentacion and take the assesment test (USD 10). If you want to, I can email you the one I took (in MSWORD format).

Regards,

Please let me know how to start the preparation.I took print out for the all red books, but could not understand how to start.

Let me know for practice purpose I can read any book(java based also not problem). How can we get the trial version of websphere, so that i cna work on MQ objects?

please do send me the practice exam(to navusingi@csc.com)

Oops... i forgot: You can request a Software Evaluation Kit in DVD format from IBM that includes a trial version of MQ V5.3. This is the link:

One manual to definitely read would be the MQ Intercommunication manual. That would clear up many questions on MQ and would make it easier to understand MQ. It might be difficult to go through it the first time, but once you do it, you get a sound understanding. It is available for download from the IBM website.
