Hi,

Available IBM certifications for RAD are test 255 (Associate), 256 (App Dev), 257 (Sol. Dev) independent of each other.

Javaranch has a IBM/Websphere forum that includes WSAD and RAD issues. I think IBM's developerworks also has a forum.

I've been waivering on taking the SCDJWS given the lack of any study guide (which would cut to the chase and save me much needed time) and have decided to take a few product certs while waiting till the web services specs settle down to facilitate creation of a reliable SCDJWS study guide (which seems like it might be a while)...

In any case, I wanted to start on the RAD path and maybe WASv6 after that.
I saw that the tests are 255, 256, 257 for RAD and was wondering if
a.)the RedBook available (Rational Application Developer V6 Programming Guide) was sufficient for passing and
b.)if there were any other recommended resources for passing 255.

For the WASv6 path I noticed that there seems to be only one test available (252) and was wondering
a.) if I was mistaken, guessing that this may be the only test available at the time given that V6 is relatively new
b.) Redbook available for this (Draft - WebSphere Application Server V6 System Management & Configuration Handbook ) was sufficient and
c.) any other recommended resources available?

WASv5 wouldn't be beneficial at this point since the shop I work in is phasing out 5 going forward...

Hi, there is a set of tutorials IBM put out for RAD 255 cert:
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/edu/i-dw-r-radcert2551.html
You have to register with developerworks but if you are going to start using RAD then maybe you should its free.
Good Luck!

Passed 255 today with 87%. MZ's notes were very helpful. Mock exam was very close to real thing (actually had a couple of questions almost verbatim). I've seen mention in this board that 255 focused a decent amount on web.xml but my experience wasn't the case. I think it seemed to focus more around project infrastructure and debugging tools along with application.xml from Enterprise App. project area.

Anybody know when the WAS V6 Admin server cert will be coming out?

Thanks again, MZ!
