IMO, SCJP (and all other Java certificate except SCEA) is not considered as valuable as other certificate like BEA Weblogic Certificate, IBM WS Application Server Certificate (don't know the exact name) etc because of excessively availability of their certified professional.

And I dont want to debate on this, I just wrote to explain my situation and view.

Please suggest me which one I should write, BEA WL or IBM WSAS or any other product certificate? Which one can add more value in my profile?

Thanks.

Value's in the eye of the beholder, you realize.

I'd look to see what the companies you work for (or want to work for) are using and go in that direction. The fact of the matter is that any certification has some value (coupled usually with experience), but a company that uses the software you're certified on will likely find that certification more valuable than another similar cert.

At least where I am, WS seems more prevelant than BEA's product, but that might just be the profile of the firms that I deal with.

Even I have heard that WS has captured larger part of market might be because of aggressive marketing of IBM and better support and good features.

But I meant not just application server, I can go for any other product certificate also

One more thing, it is really not feasible for me to decide where I will be working 5 years down the line.

Any suggestion from anyone?
