Hi,

I need to be Oracle database 10g OCP (now OCA).

In the future I want also to be certified for java. The question is witch one is more difficult Oracle or Java ?

I have done both 2 years ago. I feel that Oracle is more difficult.

The Oracle certification is much more difficult.

Java has a pretty huge support communitiy, and the exams test you on things you work with fairly regularly. I find the db certifications, db2 and oracle, tend to pull out features that are rarely used, and rarely seen in everyday administration.

Cheers!

Hi,

Can anyone suggest me which one is more valuable. java certification or oracle certification. I am in bit confusion to choose. I have done SCJP alone and working under java/j2ee for the past 2 years.

Thanks in advance.

Combination of both makes more worth for you.One in front end and one in back end

To be certified as an Oracle DBA now is simpler (10g): 2 exams an 1 course, before that (9i) needed 4 exams and 1 course.

I found the first exam not so hard, but study for the second is harderm and went from 70 questions to 120.

I hope to had a good score on my second exam it's appointed next friday. I will tell you my score.

If all goes rigth next year will try my java certs.

Actually, Java and Oracle focus on different areas. Java certs are basically developer certificate, while Oracle certs are basically administrator certificate.

Depends on your job nature, and target career path, you can choose either or both.

hi nic .. based on your experience which database certifications can be most helpful to a java developer.

I got this tall by not having enough crisco in my diet as a kid. This ad looks like it had plenty of shortening:
create, convert, edit or print DOC and DOCX in Java
