IBM is offering free XML exams from Dec 1 thru Dec 18. The first 100 persons to get 75% or more will be given a free voucher to take the test before JAN 31 2002. The details of the offer will appear on IBM site on Nov 30.
So lets get working guys,

I see the release now. Maybe they'll do what they did with the new WebSphere 4.0 exams and extend it to everyone, not just the first 100...
Well, we can hope.
Did you get any of those Websphere ones? I am extremely busy with my thesis at uni and will need to submit it in two days.
WRT the 100-person limit... I did some digging at IBM's website. I found that when they'd announced the new WebSphere V4.0 (10/17/01) exams, they'd announced that the vouchers would be limited to the first 400. This was changed with their announcement of free testing (11/01/01) for WebSphere. Maybe (this is just a guess) they'll raise the limit on the XML certifications after the new test comes out next week.
The announcement is here

I agree with Theodore. IBM 141 test focusses more on XML Schema, XSLT and WebServices among others. It would be better to take 141 if possible since Test 140 is being retired. Unforturnately I am not sure whether it is possible to shift from Test 140 to 141 if you have already registered for Test 140. My suggestion would be to try the Pre assessment test for Test 141, available at IBM site. That way if you qualify for a free voucher, you could easily appear for Test 141 too.
