Dear Friends, After going thru the sample exam at ibm, i am extremely happy to see the change in pattern. The new pattern really tests your knowledge at much better way than the earlier. I can find the questions which are syntax oriented and others which really tests the knowledge of programmer/developer unless the earlier one which was more or less ONLY SCENARIO BASED. And specially after the inclusion of new topics like web-services, i feel pretty confident about the usefulness of this certification in the coming future. What do other say? Ajith, purvesh, kelly and all of u ??? Regards Rich
Barry, I liked the new pattern. The reduction in the number of questions gives you ample time to go over the questions. Well the bad part is if you miss one question, it could affect your score considerably. The objectives cover pretty much everything and it is really good. Later, Hema
Dear Barry, Yes barry, i fully agree with you. The new exam is much meaningful and will definitely have better prospects. I am working on XML@Whiz to make it adapt it to the latest pattern. The best part is, it already has good quality syntax questions. But many new topics need to be worked like websservices. All the users of XML@Whiz (existing or new) will be entitled for free update. I share pretty much the same opinion as others. New is always good. I love the inclusion of DOM2 and SAX2 concepts, emphasis on leveraging technologies such as XLink, XPointer and SOAP/UDDI. Go for it!!

Dear Louis, Thanks for your query. I am analysing the amount of effort required for the next update. We currently have 4 Mock Tests and in the new version we plan to have atleast 8 Mock Tests according to the latest pattern. After going through the latest certification exam and gauging the new pattern, we plan to launch the updated version of XML@Whiz sometime in January. Also we have to make sure that our current product exists till the IBM Test 140 is in the market, which is scheduled to retire on Jan'31. There is no doubt about the usefulness of the new pattern and i am very excited to update our product with this equally exciting new pattern. To say again, all the users of XML@Whiz (current and new) will be entitled for update free of cost.
