No it does not expire.
There is no need to recertify in order to remain certified for IBM 141.

IBM usually "retires" an exam, when new versions are available. XML exam had an earlier version of 140, which was retired when the new XML exam, 141 was started.

Hi Hema,
But doesn't retiring an exam just mean that it is no longer offered for new test takers. All those who are already certified on the retired exam will still be certified for the older version.
My understanding is that it is upto the candidate to decide if he wants to certify for a newer version, but he stays certified for the older version.
Maybe I am wrong . . .
