I have a little confusion understanding what is "Root node". Professional XMl in one part says "document element" as the "root node" and in another part says "document root" ie (document entity) as the root node. So in result what is a Root node. Is it the document element or the document entity?

Hi, As far as i know, Every XML doc.(well formed) contains one elt. w/o a parent which is called Root element sometimes called as Document Element.(ref : oreilly xml nutshell) Root node is nothing but the "first tag found in the xml document is Root Node". (from w3schools.com) Eg: <Address> <street> 2761,Northgate hwy</street> <city> Atlanta </city> </Address> Address is the root node. Correct me if iam wrong!
