Girls and Guys,
I have mapped out all the objectives and reading a lot of posts about this XML Certification I believe I need to get the following books in order to fully cover everything, and none of the books are IBM recommended one as a lot of people don't like the Wrox books including me:
1) XML and Java: Developing Web Applications, 2nd End
2) Processing XML with Java
3) XML Family of Specifications: A Practical Guide
4) XQuery from the Experts: A guide to the W3C XML Query Langauge
Reason:
1) Covers half of the objectives, esp Web Services (SOAP & UDDI)
2) Covers the core XML, XSLT, SAX, DOM, ...
3) Covers another half of the objects, esp XSL-FO, Event, XLink, XPointer
4) Covers XQuery, this is a topic in which the other three books does not cover at all.
I think I have to get all of them and start studying for the exam next 8(

John,
I'm also interested in studying for the XML certification so I am interested in other opinions on the books that you have suggested. I wonder if your suggestions might cover the material at a far deeper level of detail than is necessary for the exam. For example, I developed my Java mock exam while reading the Java Language Specification. The result was an exam that covered the material in far more detail than the real exam. After taking the real exam last November, I've spent the last year simplifying my mock exam so that it more accurately represents the level of detail of the real exam.
I have a question for those that have taken the XML certification exam. Do the books suggested by IBM accurately represent the level of detail necessary for the exam? Do the books listed in this thread accurately represent the level of detail necessary for the exam?
