If you are planning to take the XML certification , the best place to start would be with the book "Professional XML" Second edition.

The chapters 11 and 12 give you a good introduction to both the concepts. I feel that SAX is not really covered in detail, but it is good enough for an introduction.
You can also learn more about DOM 2.0 and SAX 2.0 and about JAXP in teh J2EE tutorials at the sun web site. The link is :
http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/index.html
I am not very sure about teh other tutorials online . There is a tutorial on DOM at www.w3schools.org.The examples are mostly written in VBScript !!
Good luck!!
