Hi All,
Just passed the XML exam with a poor 68%
THough not good score, considering my confidence levels last night, I think it is not too bad.
Thanks everybody. Hari, Andy Smith , Bolton , Nick Kouiroukidis in particular.
Here is the split
Overall score: 68%
Passing score: 58%
Section % of testMy score
-------- -------- --------
Architecture 18%80%
Info Modelling 27%80%
XML processing 33%83%
XML rendering 11%16%
Testing and Tuning: 11% 33%
Preparation:
-about 2 months (2 hrs a day). I feel spending more time will not help get you more. Preparation for this exam will only get you to a point. Beyond that it is your aptitude, application and experience in XML and software development. I think I would have score almost the same if I had given the exam about a month ago or may be a month later. This is my personal opinion.
-Whizlabs (I feel it is a worth it for those who dont have any idea how the exam looks like. The format,
pattern and type of questions in Whizlabs closely match the real ones. The real exam is tougher though with a few easy questions in between. I guess the easier ones are intended for ppl to get through)
-XML Schema - tutorial from Xfront.com( the best)
-XSL - tutorial from xfront.com( good)
- XSLT - Doug Tidwell O Reilly
I still have not understood XSL completly
-XPath - practise
- IBM certification tutorial by Hari.
- Mock exams in Javaranch
- regular touch with javaranch
My XML knowledge before preparation was limited to using DOM and SAX. And editing some config files.
Advantage of XML exam(IMHO)
Before the exam I did not know what I did not know.
After the exam I feel that there is lots I know that I dont know
Plus my CV now weighs 2 grams more than what it used to.
Thanks evrybody in this group. You are wonderful people.
Any idea, how soon I will get Certificate from IBM(hardcopy) or do I need to something to get it.
