Hello everybody
I passed xml certification with 63%.I don't know but due to anxiety and stress I lost some questions. But I'm very happy. There were many scenario based questions and many snippets of xml schema, dtd, xslt(with xpath expressions)questions.
Thank you very much and my preparation follows
1.xml professional edition 2nd edition.
2.essential xml(commands are gathered and explained.very useful )
3.exam list from javaranch with mock exams

whizlabs exam simulator(much much valuable)
And Certification success articles from Mr Hari Vignesh Padmanaban(And the three of them are great and consise especially the third one )

I had little experience with xml when I was preparing for scdjws exam and from testing xml with stylus studio to see xml, xpath,& xslt examples.
I believe that someone who have read as much as I read would have scored much higher. The truth is that I broke my study due to 2 weeks vacations and repeated study later.

Many wishes

Congrats Nick

Can you tell me wht is the percentage of scenerio based questions in the acutal exam and which objectives they cover mainly.

First of All congrats!!!

Did you refer anyother book than Professional XML? Does it cover all exam objectives?
And how much percentage of questions was based on actual scenarios? And can you also tell which part of exam was tougher?

Your comments/inputs will be highly appreciated

Thank you Hussain and Amit

There were at least 12 questions with a scenario. There were 3 or 4 exhbits
that these 12 or more questions were refering to.Most of them were involved about choosing technologies sax, dom, xslt, xml schema. One was about to choose between id() and key() xslt function.
Rest of questions refer to -> What is the output applying small xslt to a xml file,if a xml file was well formed,a dtd and snippets of xml that were or not valid,to choose from 4 schemas with a restriction from a simple xsd:sting type with an enumeration, and xpath expression in a match attribute to guess the output when it applied on a small xml file. Also which are block statements in a file with formatting objects commands.

I've read essential xml also because commands are categorized better but professional xml(chapters that I mentioned)
covers 70% of the objectives.Because i used whizlabs simulator that had many scenario based questions I didn't read from the chapters I mentioned chapter 14(data modelling). Also there were 55 question (not 57) in the exam.
I think that scenario based questions were not difficult but you had to spend more time on them(read scenario with concentration ) in contrast with snippets of dtd, xml, xslt.I think ( I really mean this)that you will score much better.

I wish you the best and success.

Thanks Nick.

Now things are much clearer.
All the best for your further plans.
