Hi all,
I have cleared the XML Certification - test 142 this week.
I used the Essential XML Reference Book, and the IBM pdfs, and the links in the resources page of the certification details link in IBM website. The performance tuning articles links here is very useful.
I used whizlabs simulator, but its the old exam version 141, it was quite good to check on basics, but not of much useful for this new test. the new test is more focused on XSLT than any other.
To practice I used XMLSpy, and examples in the site
www.zvon.org This was really very useful to re-inforce the concepts learned. This site also has tutorials on varous xml topics, and has link to appropriate section of w3c spec, in case of in-depth details.
I would say this is must for anybody taking this exam. Working out xslt and xpath samples is the real-saver in the exam. XMLSpy is free tools that supports interactive xpath queries. quite large size but best tool as it has all xml related things (xpath, etc.,) I referred w3cschools.com also once for xquery materials.
The exam is quite a thriller than easy cake-walk. for tough questions working out from answers will help you most. The architecture questions were quite easy, and the xslt questions are most time taking. I had left with only 4 mins to revise marked questions
Finally I am happy to clear the exam with good percentage.
Wish you all Good luck.
