Guys,

Can anyone suggest me a good book for XML, I have little bit of understanding on DTD's, schema and xsl. So any beginners book or an intermediate one will do!

Any suggestion guys?? I bought one book and it says XML related technologies and programming with java and this one is from IBM - Prentice Hall of India. I want to know if I should follow a specific book for this and also from where can I get the certification objectives, purchase of the voucher for the exam and other details?? If any of you people have online study material that is freely available kindly share that with me at my email address.

Please help guys,

Thanks in advance!

Devloper,

I tried w3c schools but I'm looking to purchase a book or two other than the online materials that are freely available. So in that sense can you suggest some?

Disclaimer: I am preparing for this test; I tried the IBM sample tests ($10)

Based on the above:
Professional XML (2nd edition) is the best choice.

You could augment this with online resources listed on the IBM certification page. Although "XML in a Nutshell" is recommended on the Certification page and I found the book very readable, I couldnt answer the sample questions based on that.

I have XML in a Nutshell. It is a good book but I found it very brief in its explanations.

If You are looking to start with absolute basics, I would suggest XML Bible 1.1 (Basics) and Professional XML for more practice.

Yes, XML Bible 1.1 is for beginners and contains fairly detailed examples but no sufficient by itself to help you clear Test 142, You will definitely need to use professional XMl or XML in a nutshell in conjunction to be fully prepared.

Thanks for the post. Then I'd better go for Professional XML.

Professional XML is great. Beginners can use this book. You benefit from the knowledge and experience of multiple contributors.

I bought both the Nutshell and Professional XML (second ed; used; on Ebay). I feel the latter is more helpful for this exam.
