Adding feature to buddy list

It would be useful if we could go to a user's profile by clicking on their name in your buddy list. The main reason for looking at their profile is to be able to bring up a list of postings by that person and browse new messages.
Right now to do this, I have to search for a post by a particular person by browsing through threads, then click on the profile button in their post.
Ideally I could maintain a list of people in my buddy list, then go straight there, and search for new posts by those people.
