SCDJWS Beta EXTENDED!!!!

Hi Everyone!

I have decided to extend the beta worldwide! The beta will now end on June 6 (final date)

I am still working with Prometric to have all their worldwide testing centers notified in a timely manner. Please be patient, while this happens, since this announcement has to be communicated to all Prometric centers in all Time Zones.

If you hold a vouhcer and have NOT registered to take the FREE Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services, this is your opportunity to study and take the exam!!! You still have tons of time to test the test!

If you have already called Proemtric and registered for a certain date to take the exam and want to take the exam at a later date, you will have to send an email to [e-mail] and tell them you want a new voucher and cancel the old one.

Do we run any risk of loosing our voucher by canceling and rescheduling? As long as I am guaranteed (sp?) a voucher, I'll reschedule, otherwise I'll stick with what I've got.

I still have a lot to read and prepare for the exam and wish to postpone it but how high is the risk if i postpone and is not in the 1st 400 beta testers?

I asked for one yesterday, but still don't get it.

I'm getting so paranoid about loosing my chance to take this exam.

Its not to the benefit of all test takers, since some of us have already taken the exam! I think this is unfair of Sun. People have fallen into my scenario on past exams, and I was worried that Sun would do it again.

I think it is unprofessional of Sun, and they should review their test giving policies.

YES. I mailed to SUN last week, they sent me a new voucher, and I can reschedule it to 6 Jun successfully.

Its not to the benefit of all test takers, since some of us have already taken the exam! I think this is unfair of Sun. People have fallen into my scenario on past exams, and I was worried that Sun would do it again.

I think it is unprofessional of Sun, and they should review their test giving policies.

I guess the responsibility resides on our side more than SUN's side.

From SCMAD experiences, Evelyn said, when the time is very near to the original deadline (I forgot, seems 23-24 Feb), there were only 200+ people scheduled the beta, and thus, they must extent it so that the pool had more beta testers.

If, we took it in serious, such things will not happen. However, some people even bet on SUN MUST extend, and just if they do not register the test before the original deadline (like SCMAD), due to insufficient # of testers, SUN needs to extend.

Honestly, I did not expect the extension, but I do feel it is helpful to me becos I need to attend another beta exam at the end of May, and now, I can have more time to revise 1z1-036.

Again, there is no fairness or unfairness to us, becos SUN rules the game.

As Evelyn said, the old voucher will be expired on 23 May, and thus, you cannot use it to register on a day that after 23 May.

Since now is still Sunday night in US time, you may need to wait till tonite. Be patient.

I had my exam scheduled for the 21st and e-mailed prometric cos i wanted to schedule it at a later date and requested for the new voucher.As per the old voucher i have to do the exam this friday.I am confused on what to do...When will i be getting the new voucher???

Ahhhhh the same old SCMAD situation! :roll:

On that occasion i knew of the extension just before going to take the test... and was overjoyed so i rescheduled...

Unfortunately, this time i wasnt so lucky... I originally wanted to take it on the 22nd... but since i have another exam on the 22nd i took it on sat the 15th...

Now i know what the people missing the SCMAD extension felt like!!

Hi Everyone,

I just sent out the notice last Friday to extend the beta. Prometric will send you a new voucher when you request one to reschedule your exam. They are sending them out this week.

Please keep in mind that you still need to call a Prometric testing center to reschudule for a new date once you have received your new voucher. Please make sure that the testing center has available openings for you to take the test when rescheduling.

Also, if you have NOT used your voucher, you can register for the end date June 6.

I just got the new voucher for june 6. But I called prometric and no testing center in my area (Toronto) has availability for the test after May 21. Does this mean they are not going to have it or that I have to wait a little longer until they update their systems?

Give Prometric 2 days to update their systems. All worldwide Prometric testing centers should offer the beta exam until June 6.

Thanks a lot for extending the time. I have called the prometric and got my exam rescheduled and the change has reflected in my prometric login. Actually I did not request for a new voucher and just got that rescheduled with my previous confirmation number. Is that alright or do I need to do that using the new voucher only? Plese inform me.
