Hey Silpa, Thanks.
Before starting with examples, I hope you got idea on what webservice is and basics of soap, wsdl, jax-rpc, etc.. You need little idea on these before you start with any examples.
I don't know what tools are availble to you but I used Rational Application Developer(RAD)[From my company] and Apaceh Axis framework in the same tool to write few examples and test, though you can use any application servers tool to develop like WebLogic, JDeveloper etc...
If you use some tools, like RAD, its very easy to generate webservice, deploy and test.
Steps are like...
1) Write java bean which you want to expose as webservice along with interface. Interface is optional as tool can generate you interface from the implementation class.
2) Right click and say create webservice. [This step generates wsdl file for the webservice and also deploy webservice into server]
3) Generate test program.. From the wsdl generated in step 2. you can right click on wsdl and say generate test client jsp.. It will give the generated jsp and you can use that jsp to test webservice or you can create stub and use that stub to test webservice..
These are the steps I gave from RAD. Different tools may have different ways of implementing these and you need to decide which one is accessible to you. Also you can find tutorials and examples in the tool itself or you can google for them.
Someone in this forum can help you with any free tools if available to work with webservices..
HTH.
