Hi Ranchers, This question may sound silly but please pass on your opinions/experience about this below question.

I would like to know if is it right time to prepare for the SCDJWS certification as technologies/standards are changing very fast.
Sun also introduced SEE 5.0. and EJB3.0

I have completed SCEA part1.
Struck with confusion to go with SCEA part II or start preparing web services and give certification - SCDJWS.

Thanks for your help and time.

I think no one says you to go only for scdjws or scea-2. It all depends on your priorities and requiremnets and comfortability.. If you are interested in knowing about webservices technoliges, you can learn webservices and give scdjws exam and come back to scea-2. Or if you are interested in finishing architect exam first then finish architect exam then come to webservices. No certificate is less important than one another.. You need to decide which one to go far based on your job role, work nature, interest etc..

Thanks Rizwan. I understand your explaination.
I was more interested towards SCDJWS preperation but recently i saw a post where one of the ranchers mentioned that these SCDJWS tech/standards are bit outdated(when compared to the real development in market).

That is the reason i wanted to find out if it was okay to prepare for SCDJWS now OR if any new SCDJWS certification version is on its way for JEE5.0 just like SCBCD-EJB3.0.

Obviously for example we do not prepare for certification of Fortran/Power Builder etc.. now based on present market trend and demand for these technologies/languages.

Ranchers, Please pass on your valueable information.
Thanks

You should finish your SCEA Part 2 + 3 now, while everything is fresh in your mind! If you put your mind to it, it doesn't really take that much time.

I'm preparing for the SCDJWS right now, and while it is useful, it doesn't cover high level SOA concepts, or common tools such as Apache Axis.
