I'm prepairing for scdjws and even 've started with RMH's book. I've played with core java,jsp,servlets etc, but i never put my hands EJB. So, my query is that do i need to first thorough with ejb before giving this web services exams.

Know and understand the EJB material presented in RMH. The understanding part may require you to reference other sources but a full-blown SCBCD isn't necessary.
