I am starting preperation for web services examination. I don't have any prior experience in Web services. I just have completed SCWCD 5.0 and know JSP, Servlets well. How many days will it take to get ready for the Exam? I am free whole day and can give at least pure 6 hours to study for the exam.

I had just started preparing for SCDJWS. But due to tight work schedule i am not able to devote much time towards my preparation. At max during weekdays i am using two hours per day and during weekend around four hours for my preperation.

with the above timings, can anybody suggest how much time it will take to prepare for the SCDJWS.

No offense, but no body can answer this question; it depends on speed, no of hours study per day, understanding level & past experience.
Please visit Sun web site, get the Exam Objectives, look into book (RMH), and judge it yourself.

Time depends on speed, familiarity, and of course the book , apart for the dedicated time available.

Minimum 4 months, if one gives rigorous efforts.

I also would be interested in the effort you must take for this exam. Let me ask the question differently: if you compare it to SCJP5, how would it rate. Would you need about the half of the time, about the same time, or double time?

Taking a quick look at the subjects, and the extra difficulty and the fact that there is no real SCDJWS preparation book, I would say it's probably a double effort.

I personally finished SCJP5 after studying for a little year.

I strongly feel minimum 4months and maximum 6months should be enough for this exam.

Indeed the effort is going to be double.
