Some reading material on EJB

I have recently cleared the Java Developer Certification. Now I am planning to prepare for the Architect. Could anyone give me some info about how I should start working for that.
Also, I am looking for some good reading material on EJB - sites, books...
Thanks.
Vibha.

Hi,
well You can download free book from Ed Roman at the http://www.theserverside.com
The book name is Mastering Enterprise Java Beans.
I personally would sugest You buy Enterprise Java Beans book from Richard Monson-Haefel. That is actually only book you need to buy for this exam, believe it or not.
Also download Designing Enterprise Aplications with Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition. This book is actually j2ee blueprints and it is available at http://www.javasoft.com/j2ee/blueprints/
Those two are the most important books regarding exam. Plus ofcourse bits and pieces covering other objectives.
Also there are two groups ( one really active and other not so) at http://www.egroups.com You will find a lot of info there.
Do a search and You will find them.
Hope this helps.

I'd start by checking out the objectives for the SCEA.
For EJBs you might also want to download the EJB 1.1 spec from Sun and go through that.

Thanks for providing the good links. Do I need to learn JDBC and JINI also for the architect exam?

Well if You know Java fundamentals and SQL than it is just the matter of getting familiar with JDBC api. I don't think there will be any direct questions on JDBC however you should know it. As You learn EJB You will see that as a developer you can let the container manage persistence or in certain cases You should manage it. Such thing is called bean managed persistence and in that case You need to know JDBC.
No, JINI is a defferent thing and you are probably thinking about JNDI. I suggest You simply learn it as You go. In either book, it is explained what is it and how it is used.
