Today I cleared my part1 with 81%.

Applicability Of J2EE 100%
Design Patterns 80%
Messaging 100%
I18n 100%
Security 100%
Regarding this exam I'll say one's concept about each topic should be very clear.
I'll like to thanks Javaranch and all who posted important information regarding exam. Links provided were really helpfull.

Can u give some tips on the exam... How was the questions... What sort of qtns were asked for EJB, protocols, firewalls, design patterns...
Were most of them scenario qtns...
How long did it take u to prepare...

About questions on design pattern and protocol some were straight forward questions(very few) but overall questions were on concept.
In design pattern going through the definations are enough.
