Hi folks
I cleared the SCEA part 1 exam this morning with 85 %. Man I am glad this exam is finally over, bcos I am bored studying the material.
First of all I am thankful to my first love JESUS CHRIST for his grace.
Secondly, thanks folks for the postings, this forum was an awesome resource which helped me in preparing for the exam. I just studied the references mentioned in this forum.
Also Simon Lee thanks for taking your time to come up with some J2EE scenarios.
Also someone posted a nice strategy to manage time.
10 quesions in 15 min
20 quesions in 30 min
30 quesions in 45 min
40 quesions in 50 min
48 quesions in 75 min
This strategy helped me manage my time to cover all the 48 questions. I think time is a big factor in the exam bocs around 25 of the 48 questions were really long.
Here is my Section Analysis
Concepts 83 %
Common Architectures 100%
Legacy Connectivity 80%
EJB 100%
EJB Container Model 75%
Protocols 66%
Applicability of J2EE 100%
Design patterns 80%
Messaging 100%
Internationalizaton 100%
Security 0%
I donno why I got 0 in Security, but who cares now.
Infact I thought preparing for the Architect exam is more fun and a good learning experience than the programmer exam.
I will try to add some more of my experiences later.

nice one.
I just failed the Oracle Architecture and Administration exam today
I'm trying to get my part2 uploaded now. It took me about a week to download the assignment now it won't let me upload..
I called sun and they told me to email that who2contact email address, guess it's gonna be another week before I can take the part 3....
looks like I can't get certified Oracle DBA, SCEA, SCJP by new year now, BUMMER.

The part two has a upload size limit- unstated ofcourse.
If your jar file is more than 400K- try decreasing it somehow.

my jar is only 124k.
The galton website is dire, downloading the file took several emails & phone calls. I still have permission to download the assignment but I can't even get to the upload page.
Sun invoiced me about 3 times for the assignment too.

Does anyone have already experienced this kind of scary uploading situation ?
I booked Part III for next week and I plan to upload my 421k jar file by the end of week !!
I read that people has successfully uploaded 1MO jar size file...
Simon,
What do yo mean Sun invoiced 3 times .....if you fail your uploading ....do you need to download again to reactivate the upload...?!!!
Regards,
herve

Hi Herve,
Well it's a bit of a story..
I phoned Sun Education (UK) and bought my the Architect Voucher waited a few days, couldn't get onto the galton site. Sent an email to who2contact and called Sun, they said wait a few days. Received an invoice (snail mail) for a Developer's Assignment with someone else's name.
Called up Sun (Davina.Johnson@Sun.COM), they confirmed I had bought the Architect Voucher. Then spoke to someone else (Troia.Parson@Sun.COM) who said I could now download the file.
I still couldn't download it (They had enabled the Dev Assignment), spoke to Troia and the next day I could download it !!
I then received a new invoice Dev, then another crediting me 160UKP, then another invoice for the EA.. yawn..
I just checked & I can still download the Assignment
(https://www.galton.com/~sun_s/EADevassnmt.jar). I can't get to the upload page, it says I don't have rights.. Hmnmn
I'm not having a good day really.

Guys,
I successfully uploaded part II - all 850K. However I had to explicitly email the support site to get them to enable me to upload.
Thanks and regards,
Andrew

I confirm....Sun upload is a nightmare.
Sun Galton system said my account didn't have the rights ?!
so, I emailed to these Sun people who work for Sun Educational
Monica.Green@Sun.COM
Troia.Parson@Sun.COM
Davina.Johnson@Sun.COM
and 3 hours after....one of them replied me saying that my account has been activated to receive the upload.
