I haven't read the 2nd edition, but in the 3rd edition, the
EJB 2.0 stuff that was added seems to have been put in hastily, and I skipped most of the EJB 2.0 sections, knowing that the exam was going to be on EJB 1.1. One section in the 3rd edition that may be missing in the 2nd edition is the section on Messaging, though, because it's in the message driven bean section. The exam has some questions on messaging (though not on message driven beans, as far as I know).
So 2nd edition sounds like it would be perfect for study, but you might have to find another reference for JMS.
