Does this exam concentrate on traditional OO design patterns (out of Gamma book) or J2EE design patterns, or both?
Thanks

It seemed to me in the Specs for the exam, that it is just on the GOF. However, I am sure it wouldn't hurt to also know the J2EE patterns. So that is my long way around to, that is what I think, but I really have no clue

If you look at the SCEA Certification Success Guide on Sun's web page, it says "Gammal et al. design pattern" at least three times under Testing Objectives.

I attended the Architect Fast Track class at last year's JavaOne - at that time they said PArt 1 is GoF only. However, for Parts 2&3 I suspect that you should be good friends with the Core J2EE patterns.
