There has been rumors of a change in this year, but any exact date of a change will be a little while. And I believe they will have a Beta version of the
test, and you will probably see it posted here, and also a chance to sign up for the Beta test. This is what is happening right now for the
SCJP exam. They are coming out with a new Exam there, and now are doing the Beta for the next three weeks, which after that I am sure they need to review the Beta testers responses to the questions, pick out the best ones, maybe make a few more questions, do another round of Beta.
So what I am getting at, is if you are studying now, don't worry, you will take Part I before they change it.
Of course everything I say is pure specalation.
