Can someone enlighten me why would they provide so many implementation details on TransMaster? These datails dont go anywhere near our diagrams.
Or they just wanted to present 'the document you received from TransMaster' as is?
Or am I missing something?

Thanks

It is perfectly normal for a consultant brought into an existing project to receive documentation of this sort. As proprietary API documents go, the one they provided you with is typical.
As a company that does a lot of consulting themselves, Sun understands these sorts of issues. Here, they go out of their way to provide a realistic experience, and all people can do is complain (you're not the first person to bring up this issue on this forum).

I have read through the TransMaster API docs, but I am not going to spend too much time worrying aobut how it is to be included in my assignment submission, since the assignment does not require us to look into very low level details of the entire system. What we have to do is deliver a high level desing of the system to the developers so that they know how all the differnt bits glue other. The detailed desing will be done as devlopement starts

Many consulting engagements gather information that is disproportionate to what the architect wants. In some cases more detail than what is required or useless information. In other cases not enough information so assumptions have to be made.
I agree with Bagwan on this topic that Sun is going out of their way to make the assingment "real world."
