If you search this forum, you will find it gets mixed reviews. I bought my copy from Amazon for $32 total. I think it's worth that. Many people think you can find everything in it somewhere about the web.
I'm taking the part I exam real soon. I'll know better what it's worth shortly.
I bought two books for SCJ2P. The one that's by the same authors as the book in question was right on the mark for that exam.
What do you think SCEA would be worth to your career?

Hello Christy,
I bought the book when preparing for part 1. I didn't buy the book expecting it to teach me anything new, I bought it to get peace of mind. In the other Sun exams there always seems to be the odd question that catches one out.
I wanted to see what topics they said the exam covered and to what level of detail.
Although the book has typing errors and doesn't cover EJBs in enough detail I still think it is worth the $32 price tag. Besides whats $32 when you spending $500 on the exams/assignments!

Although this book doesn't contain everything you need, it contains enough to pass the part I and it seems also to be helpful for preparing part II assignment. I had only 1 weekend to prepare to the exam and I ended only reading this book - it helped a lot

chris
having passed the exam just today i think the book did help.
The thing about this book as said before, is that it does prepare you for the exam and that's it.
This book is good, as a collection of notes, pointing the style/depth/level of knwoledge expected from you for the exam. i dont think that the book alone + experience would have been enough for me but it defenatley helped.
the ejb part of it i found is it's weakeast one.
cheers
shai
