I have seen a couple of different questions
about the Software life cycle..
but I have also seen many different answers to this question.
Here is the water fall:
One way to describe it is:
business Planning
Define Requirements
Define Essential Use Cases
Create Prototype
Define High level System Architecture
OO Anaylsis
OO Design
Coding
Testing
And the RUP method
Inception,
Elaboration,
Construction
Transition
What does Sun expect for the answer to this type of question and/or
where is a guide to get the answer..

In the SCEA program, Sun does not make a strong
effort to address the issue of a development
methodology. The program does present use cases,
so they are indicating that they belong in the
requirements process. As far as unified process,
extreme programming, or water-fall process this
is not part of the SCEA objectives.
