I believe that CORBA now comes with a session service. When that's used, the a session identifier is added to all requests. All articles are talking about it in reference to Oracle Database session connections. i.e., using the seiion identifier the same client can connect to different database sessions.
I do not know if the same session service can be used to create session identifiers as cookie? Wouldn't that make it stateful?

HTTP - Stateless
HTTPS - Stateful
IIOP - Stateful
JRMP - Stateful
Hope this helps.
