I am looking through the specs and can't seem
to see them..

Hi,
This is not at complete list but, amongst others you can't:
[*]create your own threads
[*]use awt etc
[*]read / write to regular files (you can however, use getResourseAsStream(....))
[*]Listen to sockets ( however you can connect to sockets)
If you refer to the EJB 1.1 Specification page 276 (section 18.1.2) you will find the complete answer to your question. Hopes this one helps...

see section 24.1.2 of the Ejb specification 2.0 which contains the Programming restrictions.
