Hi all,
I have a question about the Class Diagram in Part 2. Going thru the Sun Certification Guide from Mark Cade and Simon Roberts, I got the impression that only Logical Classes for the Domain Model have to be provided with Classes for the Facade Layer. But speaking to a few others, I got the impression that ALL Classes i.e. JSPs, View Beans, Controllers, Facades, Value Objects and Entity Bean Objects have to be laid out. Can anybody make a case one way or the other as to what is SUN expecting from us?
Thanks
Deepak.

Your corrrect about their class diagram.
Things are different in the sequence & colloboration diagrams.
Assuming they have presented the CIO and the CEO it seems we're early in the project. What diagram would an architect draw first?
UML Distilled brings up that you can have different audiences for a set of related diagrams.
Sun does not say what flavor they want.
I think your on the correct path. This is an opportunity to show your architect experience level. The client and the business analyst are ignorant, no?

Hi Rufus,
I am still confused. So are you saying that we do the class diagram the way Mark Cade and Simon Roberts have done it or do we lay out ALL the classes?
Thanks
Deepak.

The problem here is we don't know.
IMHO your putting a class diagram together to explain to management an overview of the application. This is a high level specification. Your not trying to explain things to the developers.
This project is still in the UP inception phase.
