i doubt this recertification process.
1) for
scjp and scwcd, the regular cost is $150, and then we have to pay another $100+time to "update" every 2 years? how many new features could worth this $100???
2) if this rule applies to
scjd and
scea(multiple- step ones), too (as i read), what will the exam be? (making the assignment 1.x compatible??? 2 more diagrams???)
3) is id card with expiration date a joke or not? ("... sir, show me your card ...")
consider if you're scjp/scwcd/scjd/scea, how many exams you'll have to take every 2 years? 4? if you're working guys like me, by the time you finish the last one, you may need to restart the first one again.
java certs are not not oracle or any other product-related exams, there're not many changes for each new release.(e.g., like this new 1.4, besides assertion, only
test content reformatted)
frankly, behind the scene, i only see $$$.
